Mildred J. Martin Walker

Mildred J. Martin Walker, 83, of Johnson City, Tennessee, formerly of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016 in Cornerstone Village, Johnson City. She was known as ?Midge' to family and ?Millie' to friends, coworkers, and her church family. She was the widow of James M. Walker, Jr. and the daughter of the late Lloyd Owen and Bonnie Hazel Elliot Martin. Millie retired from Naval Supply Center in 1987. She was an active member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Norfolk. In addition to her husband and parents, Millie was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Wilson Bradley and Shirley Cox; one brother, Harold Gene Martin; mother-in-law, Ada Adaline Walker; and two nephews. She is survived by one sister, Barbara Lois Smith, of Johnson City; 18 nieces and nephews; 22 great nieces and nephews; and several great great nieces and nephews. The family of Millie Martin Walker will receive friends from 11 am until 12:30 pm Saturday, January 16, 2016 in Morris-Baker Funeral Home. Following the visitation, family and friends will proceed to Monte Vista Memorial Park for a 1 pm graveside service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
