Milton Otho Anderson

Milton Otho Anderson, age 97, of Piney Flats, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord with his daughter and granddaughter at his side on Tuesday, March 23, 2021.

Otho was born on May 9, 1923 to Edward Napoleon Anderson and Alice Richardson Anderson in Marion, Virginia. He graduated from Marion High School. He served in Army Air Corp during World War II. Otho worked at Raytheon Technologies as an engineer until his retirement at the age of 65. In his free time, he enjoyed delivering meals for Meals on Wheels in the Piney Flats community. Otho was a handy man that could fix anything, and he enjoyed working with his hands. He also liked to work in his garden.

In addition to his parents, Otho was preceded in death by his wife, Leila Virginia Jones Anderson; daughter, Rhonda Anderson Greene; and brothers, Sherwood Anderson, Lawrence Anderson, and Arthur Anderson; and sisters, Dorothy Osborne, Millie Haga, Kathleen Verlander, and Nellie Russell.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Beverly (and Philip) Justice; granddaughter, Ashlee Dallas Gillespie (and Ben Noe); and his special friend, Nevada Kirby of Marion, VA.

There will be a graveside service at 3:00 pm, Friday, March 26, 2021 at Shell Cemetery at Piney Flats United Methodist Church (225 Methodist Church St, Piney Flats, TN 37686), under the direction of Dr. Paul Humphrey and David Lewis. Please meet at the cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by Boone Dam VFW Post 4933. The graveside service will be recorded and uploaded to the Morris-Baker website, on Otho's obituary page, by noon on Saturday.
