Minerva Elizabeth Kivett Lamb

June 6, 1921 — March 6, 2012

Minerva Elizabeth Kivett Lamb, 90, of Johnson City, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at NHC in Johnson City. She was a native of Speedwell, TN and a daughter of the late David Astor Kivett and Emily Lenora Beeler Kivett. She was also preceded by her first husband, David O. Hardin and her second husband, Frank Phillip Lamb, one brother, Frank Kivett and two sisters, Mildred Kivett and Jean Denny Kincheloe. Mrs. Lamb was a member of the Cawood United Methodist Church in Speedwell. She was a retired librarian and had worked at the V. A. and E. T. S. U. Mrs Lamb received her bachelors degree from Berea College in Berea, KY and her masters degree from Peabody College in Nashville, TN. She was a World War II veteran, having served in the U. S. Army. The things that brought her most joy were her family, her friends, her beloved animals and gardening. Survivors include; one nephew, David R. Denny and his wife Lyndell of Johnson City; one great niece, Carrie Lynne Denny of Johnson City; one step-son, Frank Lamb and his wife, Myra, of Lyman, SC; one step-daughter, Betty Lamb of Macon, GA; one step granddaughter, Karen Kuebel and her husband Norman, of Simpsonville, SC; two special neighbors, Pearl Hopper and Bill and Joyce Leach; several cousins and many friends. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Station 1 at NHC and to Lydia and the Staff of Caris Hospice. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Cawood United Methodist Church, 4436 Old Highway 63, Speedwell, TN. Rev. Gary Tye will officiate. Burial will follow in Beeler Cemetery in Speedwell. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Saturday and at the church from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Sunday.
