Molly Marie Doty, 83, of Johnson City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord in a joyous family reunion after an extended illness on Thursday, December 28, 2023.
A lifelong resident of Johnson City, Molly was born August 19, 1940, to the late Charlie Elmer Casey and Savannah Shepard Casey. She worked as a nursing assistant for several years prior to becoming a childcare provider at KinderCare, where she worked for many years until her retirement. She was a member of Rich Acres Freewill Baptist Church, where she loved to attend church. She cherished spending time with her family, and she loved to watch the ETSU Eagle Cam.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 1972, Louis Robert Taylor, and several siblings.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Terri (Marvin) Wells, James Taylor, and Tim (Sondra) Taylor; grandchildren, Brandi (Brian) Oakes, Josh Taylor, and Manoah Taylor; great-grandchildren, Oliver and Emmaline Oakes; siblings, Jimmy Casey, Brenda Honeycutt, and Penny Boston; and several nieces and nephews.
Molly’s family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 pm on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted the following day, Wednesday, January 3, at 2:00 pm at Roselawn Memory Gardens, under the direction of Pastor Kenneth Grindstaff. Those attending are asked to please meet at the cemetery by 1:50 pm.
