Mr. Morris Daniel 'Dan'? Shockley, 90, Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015, in the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. Mr. Shockley was a native of Knoxville. He was a son of the late Morris and Sally Galyon Shockley. Mr. Shockley proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He worked in service repair with Montgomery Ward for thirty-two years. Mr. Shockley was a member of Johnson City Baptist Temple. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: one son, Randy Shockley; half sister, Trula Brown; sister, Oneida Davis; half brothers, Paul Shockley and Clyde Shockley. Survivors include: his wife of 62 years, Olivene Graybeal Shockley; five children, David Shockley and his wife Marilyn, Jane Walters, Bobby Shockley and his wife Barbara, Gary Shockley and his wife Lisa, and Keith Shockley and his wife Marsha; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family of Mr. Dan Shockley will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM Friday, January 30, 2015 in Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Wilkie Brookshire, Joseph Shockley and Travis Shaffer officiating. The graveside committal service will follow in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be his grandsons. The Boone Dam Post 4933 will accord military honors.
