Myoka Bolton Widener, passed away unexpectedly on November 24, 2024, at the age of 71. She was born on November 21, 1953, in Carter County, Tennessee.
She was a proud '71 graduate of Science Hill High School, where she was a talented Majorette and saxophone player. After High School she pursued a degree from East Tennessee State University, in Dental Hygiene, in which she had a wonderful career before retiring.
A cherished wife and mother, who was the heart and soul of her family. She found great joy in her role as a devoted mother to her two beloved sons, Nathan and Jonathan, and treasured every moment spent with them. She was deeply involved in their lives, proudly supporting their school programs and serving as President of the PTA during their formative years. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she was a constant source of strength, warmth, and guidance. She will be remembered for her unwavering devotion and the deep love she shared with those closest to her.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, JW and Ruth Street, father, NC Bolton, mother, Frances Bolton, sister, Meschelle Lay, and son, Jonathan Widener.
Left to cherish her memory are her high school sweetheart and husband of over 51 years, David Widener, and her son, Nathan Widener.
She will be remembered for her love of animals, especially her beloved dog, Axel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Washington County, TN Animal Shelter (3411 N Roan St, Johnson City, TN 37601) in Myoka's memory.
Myoka's family will receive friends in a casual reception from 4:30-6:00 pm on Friday, November 29, 2024, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. Private burial services were held at Monte Vista Memorial Park. She will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
