Myrtle H. Edmonds passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Tennova Residential Hospice in Knoxville, Tennessee. Myrtle was the daughter of Nell and William Honeycutt. Her husband of 62 years, Frank K. Edmonds, and granddaughter, Ann Catherine Morris of Knoxville, preceded her in death. Myrtle was a 1940 graduate of Science Hill High School. Both she and her husband were active in the life of First Presbyterian Church in Johnson City. Her home burned in May 2011. She lived at the Appalachian Christian Village. She was devoted to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Marcy E. Morris and son-in-law, Dr. Steven A. Morris of Knoxville; granddaughter, Sara Morris Ballard and husband Mr. L. Brian Ballard; great grandchildren, Ann Catherine Ballard and Morris Brian Ballard of Macon, GA; a niece, Mrs. Joyce Morrison, and nephew, Mr. Don Duncan, both of Charlotte, NC; great nieces, Cynthia Stone of Spartanburg, SC, Sharon Morrison of Marietta, GA, and Lori Fetner of Dallas, TX. A graveside committal service will be conducted at 1 PM Tuesday, February 2, 2016, in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Rev. Louis Imsande will officiate. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 PM Tuesday. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Joni and Friends, 1540 Robinson Rd., Knoxville, TN 37923 and First Presbyterian Church of Johnson City, 105 S. Boone St., Johnson City, TN 37604.
