Nancy Carolyn King, 76, Greeneville, passed away Friday, January 9, 2015, at her home. She was a Johnson City native who had lived most of her life in Greeneville. She was the daughter of the late John Melvin and Maryanna Arietta Duncan King. Ms. King retired from teaching at Greene Valley Development Center. She was a member of Hardins Chapel United Methodist Church, Greeneville. For over thirty years, she volunteered with the Greeneville chapter of the American Red Cross. In addition to her parents, Ms. King was preceded in death by a niece, Christina Walden. Survivors include: brother, Wallace King, and his wife Carolyn, of Gray; two nephews, Mitch King, and his wife Bridget, of Johnson City and Charlie Walden of Johnson City; niece, Linda Slagle, and her husband Earl, of Elizabethton; godson and goddaughter, Harold and Elizabeth Williamson, of Mosheim; cousin, John Bishop of Gray; five great nieces and nephews; and many special friends. The family would like to give special thanks to Caris Hospice and Dr. Bakshi for their wonderful care.
