Nancy Karen Edwards

Nancy Karen Edwards, 73, Gray, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at the Life Care Center of Gray, following a lengthy illness. 

Nancy was a life-long resident of Gray, Tennessee. She graduated in 1969 from Sulphur Springs High School and was employed at Eastman Chemical Co. of Kingsport, Diesel Sales and Service/Pro Diesel of Johnson City, Comcast Cable of Boones Creek, and most recently Gabe’s Department Store of Johnson City. 

Those remaining to cherish her memory include: her loving husband, Tony Hatcher; son, Anthony Edwards and daughter-in-law Tina Edwards of Hurricane, West Virginia; step daughters, Shannon Smith of Bluff City, Tennessee and Toni Davis of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; sisters, Cathy Jackson and Jean Crawford; brothers James McCray and Billy McCray; life-long friend, Karen Martin, and a host of other friends and family. 

Nancy is preceded in death by: her parents, William “Bill” and Ada McCray and Anthony’s father, Gary Edwards. 

Nancy loved her family immensely, had many friends, and she couldn’t be without her devoted dogs Munch and Peanut. It’s been said that she knew how to make an entrance and had a smile that would lighten everyone’s day. 

Nancy’s family and friends will gather to celebrate and reminisce with a visitation from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, February 14, 2025 in the Oak Hall at Morris-Baker Funeral Home.
