Nancy McGlamery, age 74, of Piney Flats, TN passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, November 8, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born on October 15, 1941 in Mountain City, TN to the late R.D. and Texie Forrester Henson. She grew up in Mountain City, TN and graduated from Johnson County High School in 1960 and Steed College in Bristol, TN in 1962. After graduation, Nancy married Cecil McGlamery and moved to Bluff City, TN and later made their home in Piney Flats, TN. Nancy worked for Foremost Dairy in Bristol, TN and later for the Sullivan County School System where she worked until retirement. After retiring, Nancy spent most of her time with her grandson Max and going on trips with her friends and family. Nancy was a member of Edgefield United Methodist Church. She was actively involved in her church and was also the church organist. Nancy also loved playing the piano and enjoyed University of Tennessee basketball. She is survived by her husband of fifty two years, Cecil McGlamery; one son, David McGlamery and his wife Lisa; and one special grandson, Max McGlamery. She is also survived by three sisters, Sue Hensley and her husband Jim, Brenda Snyder, and Jo Henson; and two brothers, Larry Henson and his wife Susie, and Gary Henson and his wife Kathy all of Mountain City, TN. She is also survived by one special great niece, Bethany Hensley Patton and several other nieces and nephews, many special friends and her church family. A celebration of life service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening, November 10, 2015, from the Morris Baker Funeral Home Chapel. The family will also receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. prior to the service. Services will be officiated by Rev. Kathie Wilson-Parker and Rev. Estel Williams. Music will be under the direction of Annette Gross and the church choir. The graveside committal service will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 2 PM from the Edgefield United Methodist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mike Oliver, Sam Reed, John Smith, Bill Smith, Mike Berry, Allen Adkins, and John Weaver. Honorary pallbearers will be Sid Jackson, Mike Haga,Bodey Fox, Wayne Ward and Bobby Burton. Ministers, family and friends will meet at the cemetery by 1:50 PM Wednesday. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Regional Cancer Center and Mountain States Hospice for the love, kindness, and compassion shown during the last year. You were a blessing. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Nancy?s memory to the Edgefield United Methodist Church Building Fund, 745 North Pickens Bridge Road, Piney Flats, TN 37686. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home 452 North Pickens Bridge Road, Piney Flats, TN.
