Nell Gibson Ross

Mrs. Nell Gibson Ross, age 90, of Johnson City, passed away February 1, 2013, at Christian Care of Johnson City. Mrs. Ross, a longtime resident of Johnson City, was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Lawrence E. 'Red'? Ross. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and friend to many. Nell had numerous interests, sewing, cooking, crafts, painting, bird watching, gardening, hiking, snow skiing, music, dancing, and dogs, especially her beloved Boxers. Nell had a very deep connection to and love of our East Tennessee Mountains, especially Roan Mountain. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Johnson City. Survivors include, daughter Vashta Ross Caterina, her husband Vince Caterina, daughter, Vickie Ross Bolton, her husband Bart Bolton, and daughter Patti Thomas Boyles. Grandchildren, Trey Ross Triplett, his wife Melissa Haines Triplett, Thomas Michael Caterina, Holly Curtis Sherman, her husband Paul Sherman, Bailey Boyles, Carly Boyles. Great grandchildren, Hannah Sherman, Avery Sherman, Landon Boyles Jordan (deceased), and Laiken Boyles Jordan. The family of Mrs. Ross will receive friends from 5 to 6 PM Saturday, February 9, 2013 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. The memorial service will follow with Chaplain Dwight MacPherson officiating.
