Nellie P. Mckee

Nellie P. McKee, 85, Piney Flats, TN, died Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. McKee was a native and lifelong resident of Piney Flats. She was a daughter of the late Jess and Nannie Hodges Whitaker. Her husband, Gurnie McKee and one brother, Donald Whitaker, preceded Mrs. McKee in death. She was a member of New Bethel Presbyterian Church and had been very active in many church activities for many years. Survivors include one son, Joey McKee and his wife, Debbie, Piney Flats, one daughter, Claudia Ratcliff and her husband, Duane, Augusta, GA; six grandchildren, including, Lori Smith and her husband, Gil and Sherry Greaves and her husband, George; eleven great grandchildren and one sister, Bessie McKee, Piney Flats. A funeral service for Mrs. McKee will be conducted at 8 PM Friday, July 20, 2007 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, July 21, 2007 at New Bethel Cemetery, Piney Flats. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 AM and travel in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ryan Smith, Gil Smith, Dean Torbett, Phil Elsea, Robert King, Roy Broyles and Ira Wishart. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to New Bethel Presbyterian Church, 592 New Bethel Road, Piney Flats, TN 37686.
