Nila Evelyn Harwood Fowler

Mrs. Nila Evelyn Harwood Fowler, 87, Johnson City, passed away on December 10, 2018, at Cornerstone Village in Johnson City. Evelyn grew up in Boones Creek and Boone Station and lived most of her life in that area. She was a beloved wife, friend & family member. She was devoted to the Lord and to everyone who knew her. Evelyn was a member of Boones Creek Christian Church for many years. Survivors include: her husband, Gene S. Fowler, Sr., of Johnson City; and many nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by: her first husband, Fred Solomon Harwood; her mother and father, Hurley and Ina Rigsby; and siblings, Hurley Rigsby, Jr., Pauline Busbee, Margie Harwood, Earnest ?Buck' Rigsby, Phyllis Francis, Velma ?Pinky' Clouse, Alfred ?Frank' Rigsby, Sarah Belle Ballard and Jimmy Rigsby. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM Friday, December 14, 2018 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM with Rev. Palma Bennett officiating.
