Nora B. Cook, 92, of Johnson City, died Sunday, July 3, 2011 at the NHC of Johnson City. She was a native of Minneapolis, NC, daughter of the late Jefferson Franklin and Martha Young Puckett. She worked at Pucketts Grocery for many years. Nora was a member of the Johnson City Lioness Club and was a hostess for the First United Methodist Church for many years. Nora was a member of the First United Methodist Church and member of the Susannah Wesley Sunday School class. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Harry M. Cook in 2009 also 7 brothers and sisters. Survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Finley and Judy Cook, Harry and Grace Cook, Criss and Marti Cook all of Johnson City; seven grandchildren, Brian Cook, Kathy (Scott) Huff, Curtis Cook, Kelly (Albert) Gomes, Allison Cook, Ashley Cook, and Dustin (Lisa) Wilson; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. in the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home North Chapel, under the direction of Rev. Garland Thayer and Mary Holt. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in the form of contributions to: First United Methodist Church, 900 Spring Street, Johnson City, TN 37604.
