Nora Belle Moody

September 21, 1926 — May 5, 2009

Nora Belle Ward Moody, 82, of the Erwin Center on Aging, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was a native of Carter County, daughter of the late Henry and Hannah Elizabeth Pilkington Ward. Nora was a retired food service employee of the East Tennessee State University. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church but had attended the McKinley Bible Church for many years. Nora loved gardening and crocheting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Don Lilly in 1952; her second husband, R. L. Moody in 1981; three sisters, June Trowbridge, Mollie White and Rosa Black; two brothers, Thurston and Will Good. Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and O. B. Foster of Elizabethton; a grandson, Keith Foster of Hampton; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the McKinley Bible Church under the direction of Rev. Lenny Smith. A committal service will follow in the Snow Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2009 at the Morris '' Baker Funeral Home. The family would like to thank the Erwin Center on Aging for their care and the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital, Doctors and staff.
