Norma Faye Simpson Cox, 60, of Watauga, died Saturday, December 7, 2013 at her home. She was a Watauga native and a daughter of the late William Eldridge and Hazel Elizabeth Baird Simpson. Norma was a member of First Church of God in Watauga. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters: Arzella Constable, Edna Tester, Sarah Blevins, and Claudia Simpson Moffit. She is survived by: her husband of 44 years, Reginald Cox; one son, Reginald Perry Cox II and his wife Jamie; five grandchildren, Candi Cox, P. J. Cox, Taylor Fenyus, Tyler Fenyus, and Jordan Fenyus; one sister, Verdie Mae Painter; three brothers, Ronald Simpson, Glen Simpson and his wife Barbara, and Larry Simpson and his wife Joyce; sister-in-law Sara Jane Simpson; special friend Brenda Murphy; several nieces and nephews; many other special friends whom she loved dearly; and her beloved dog, Layla. A memorial service is scheduled for 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. Reverend Estel Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday at Morris-Baker from 6:00 PM until the time of service at 8:00 PM.
