Norman Andrew Hamm, Sr. 86, of Johnson City, died Friday, November 8, 2019. He was a native of Chattanooga, son of the late Goldie James and Edna Hughes Hamm.
Norman was retired veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the US Army for thirty years. Following retirement, he became a dental technician at James H. Quillen VAMC for fourteen years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 29 and a half years, Betty Jane Bowman Hamm, two sons, Norman A. Hamm, Jr. and Steven Eugene Hamm.
Survivors include, a son, Terry Hamm; a grandson, Christopher Hamm; two granddaughters, Brandy Hamm and Tina Louise Hamm; one brother, Douglas Hamm; two sisters, Mary Bryson and Edna Smith; two great grandchildren, Kane and Destiny; former daughters-in-law, Penny Hamm and Cindy Hamm; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the Haynes Firm for all their assistance.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 18, 2019 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home in the Dogwood Chapel from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 pm under the direction of Rev. Tony Birchfield and Pastor Lenny Smith. A committal service is scheduled for Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Military honors will be accorded by the Boone Dam VFW Honors Detail.
