Oakley Mccoy Weeks, Jr.

Oakley McCoy Weeks, Jr. of Gray, died at his residence on Saturday, May 22, 2010. He was a native of Virginia, son of the late Oakley McCoy and Rita Stuart Weeks. Oakley was a veteran of Desert Storm having served in the U. S. Marine Corps. He was of the Baptist faith. Oakley was a framer in the construction industry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Goldhammer. Survivors include: his wife, Patricia Thompson Weeks of the home; three sons, Jimmy (of NC), William Chad and Earl Weeks both of TN; two daughters, Judy Scott of TN and Jenna Fletcher of NC; a brother, Howard Weeks of TN; two sisters, Maryann Collins of VA and Della Owens of TN; seven grandchildren, Lora, Autumn, Aaron, Brandon, Cayden, Logan and Jeremy. A committal service is scheduled for Friday, May 28, 2010 at 1:00 pm in the Mt. Home National Cemetery, under the direction of Deacon Leroy Shepherd. Military honors will be accorded by the Boone Dam VFW and the TN National Guard. The family will receive friends from 11:30 until 12:30 p.m. then leave in procession to the cemetery.
