Psalm 136:12 Mr. Ora Everette Jennings, Jr., 89, of Johnson City, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015, in the Four Oaks Health Care Center, Jonesborough. Mr. Jennings was a native of Scott County, VA. He was a son of the late Ora and Emma Myrtle Snapp Jennings. Mr. Jennings was a veteran of the US Army, having served in Germany and France during World War II. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church, where he was ordained as a minister at the age of 88 by Dr. Reggie Weems. In addition to his parents, two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death. Survivors include: his wife, Vauneva M. Jennings; three sons, Marc S. Jennings and his wife Darlene, David C. Jennings and his wife Jennifer, and Sam C. Jennings and his wife Regina; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one sister, Valice Jennings. The family of Mr. Ora Everette Jennings, Jr. will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Thursday, June 25, 2015, in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7 PM Thursday in the chapel. Dr. Reggie Weems will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 10 AM Friday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. The Boone Dam Post # 4933 will accord military honors. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Minister, family, and friends are requested to meet at Morris-Baker by 9:15 AM Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
