Orpha Mooneyhan McKinney, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in the Appalachian Christian Village. Mrs. McKinney was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Earl Leonard McKinney. For many years she was an active member of The Tacoma Church of God where she and Earl prepared the weekly meals. In earlier years, she loved to garden and prided herself in having the best-looking garden in the community. She is survived by her stepson, Darrell McKinney and wife Jimmie, of Fayetteville, GA; one stepdaughter, Elaine Cox and husband Wayne, of Fayetteville, GA; two sisters, Maude Wilburn, of Livonia, MI and Martha Samelson, of Novi, MI; two brothers, Kenneth Mooneyhan, of Henderson, NV and Frank Mooneyhan and wife Virginia, of Greenville, TN; two step grandchildren, Cregg McKinney, of Tarpon Springs, FL and Sandy Price, of Chester Springs, PA; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Orpha Mooneyhan McKinney will be conducted at 12 noon Friday, March 18, 2011 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Dr. Darrell Sovine will officiate. The graveside committal service will follow in the Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Greeneville, Tn. The family will receive friends from 11 AM to 12 noon Friday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Tacoma Church of God, 1005 John Exum Parkway, Johnson City, TN 37601 or to the Charity of your choice.
