Pamela “Suesi” Buchanan, 65, of Johnson City, Tennessee, went Home to be with the Lord on June 25, 2023, suddenly and unexpectedly at her home.
A lifelong resident of Johnson City, Suesi was born January 4, 1958. She was a 1976 graduate of David Crockett High School. She was formerly an employee of Coleman Studios and a representative of Avon.
Suesi was Suesi. She loved with all her heart, always willing to help anyone in need. She was a breast cancer survivor, a true warrior. Suesi was very proud of her Native American heritage; her given name was Dragonfly. Her pride and joy was Tessa, her Maine Coon baby. They were inseparable.
Those gone before her include her brother, William “Billy” McDaniel Smith; Papa Bear, Dana Simmons; dad, William “Bill” Rawleigh Smith; and maternal grandparents, Robert and Lula Widener.
Left to mourn her passing includes her best friend and husband of 41 years, Charles “Chuck” Buchanan; loving mom, Dorothy “Dotty” W. Simmons, also known as Little Momma; sister and beach buddy, Bunny Blevins; niece, Callie (Ben) Friend; great niece, Harper Friend.
Suesi’s family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 pm on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral will immediately follow, at 5:00 pm, under the direction of Rev. John Chandler. The funeral will be livestreamed and available to view for 90 days on Morris-Baker’s website, under Suesi’s obituary page. A committal service will commence the following day, Thursday, June 29, at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Please meet at Morris-Baker by 1:45 pm to go in procession. Pallbearers will be selected from friends and family.
This is not goodbye, we will be together again. Fly high our precious Dragonfly.
