Patricia Ann Cummings

Patricia Ann (Widener) Cummings, age 85 passed away on Monday January 7, 2019 at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born September 29, 1933 to Margaret Widener and Hunter Widener. In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, G. Wayne Cummings; and her brother, Herbert Widener. Patricia graduated from Marion High School, attended Marion College and later attended the University of Tennessee. Patricia is survived by; son and daughter-in-law Stephen Cummings and JoAnne; daughter and son-in-law Cheryl Fore and Richard; sister Violet Williamson; sister and brother-in-law Jeanie Hope and Hollis; grandson Ben Cummings; grandson and wife Nate Warren and Megan; granddaughter Emily Cummings; and granddaughter and husband Andrea Goins and Jesse. A funeral service for Patricia will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church, 201 South Roan Street, Johnson City, TN 37601 under the direction Rev. Carol Wilson and Rev. Patty Muse. The visitation will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 4:00 pm in the Munsey Memorial UMC Gathering Place. A committal service for Patricia will be held Friday, January 11, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Rose Lawn Cemetery, 4410 Lee Hwy., Marion, VA 24354. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Patricias memory may be made to the Herbert L. Widener Scholarship Fund, Emory & Henry College, Emory, Virginia 24327.
