Patricia Ann Quinn

November 7, 1946 — May 7, 2021

After a tragically long 10 year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease, Patricia Ann Quinn, 74, of Johnson City, Tennessee died Friday morning, May 7, 2021 at the Dominion Senior Living facility.

Pat was born November 7, 1946 in Waterbury, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Richard Jeremiah Hannifan and Lily Mae Aston. She fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming a nurse when she graduated from the Mount Vernon School of Nursing in 1967. She married her hometown friend, Bruce Christopher Quinn, at McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento, California on July 11, 1970. Her husband’s time as an Air Force officer and pilot took her to many places. She resided in California, Florida, Louisiana, Texas, and Japan. She worked as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years, caring for the sick and injured.

Her husband’s work with Aerojet brought them to Tennessee in 1980. She lived on a small farm in Greene County for ten years and worked at the Tacoma Adventist Hospital in Greeneville. The family moved to Johnson City in 1990. Pat worked at both the Johnson City Medical Center and the Holston Valley Medical Center. She retired in 2007.

She was sweet, she was gentle, she was kind. She could always you make you smile. Her laugh was infectious. She cared for her patients, her family, and her pets. If dogs go to heaven, there is a pack of them waiting, happy to see her again.

Pat is survived by her husband, Bruce; her daughter, Becky and her son, Kevin both of Johnson City; her son, Matthew of Elizabethton; her son, Michael and her daughter, Caitlin both of Knoxville; eight grandchildren, Mason, Liam, Owen, Evelyn, Coraline, Sawyer, Sullivan, and Josephine; her brother, Kevin Hannifan of Philadelphia, PA; and, oh yes, one small white dog, Tristan.

The Celestial Wolfpack greeting her includes: Salty, Ginger, Sam, Lily, Brady, Libby, Misty, Isaac, Bear, Lady, Sissy, Alex, Jacob, and Sally. There will also be a cat named Philomena, a goat called Madeline and her quarter horse, Loretta.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Washington County Johnson City Animal Shelter (3411 N. Roan St, Johnson City, TN 37601 or https://wcjcanimalshelter.org/support-us/donate/).

Pat’s family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. There will be a funeral Mass the following day, Friday, May 14, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, under the direction of Father Dustin Collins (2211 E Lakeview Dr, Johnson City, TN 37601). The committal service will follow at 1:00 pm, Friday, May 14, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Those attending are asked to gather at 215 Heroes Dr, Mountain Home, TN 37684 by 12:50 pm to process to the committal shelter. The cemetery does require those attending to wear a face covering and attendance is limited to 50 people.
