Patricia Ann Ramsey

Patricia West Ramsey, 71, of 1700 Dave Buck Road, Johnson City, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at her residence. She was a native of Boston, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Norman and Dorothy May Keene Sorgman. Patricia was a homemaker. She was a born again Christian, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of forty one years, Fred West in 1997, her fifteen year old granddaughter, Janessa Lynn Friddell also in 1997, a brother Frank Sorgman and a step mother, Rae Sorgman. Survivors include: her loving husband of seven years, Walter E. Ramsey of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Jim Friddell of Jonesborough; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Stephen and Mary West of Romoland, California; Frederick West of Atlanta, GA and Paul and Vanessa West of Houlton, Maine; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Gloria and Norman Kaplan of Sharon, MA, Lorry Sorgman of Jamaica Plain, MA; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Aaron Sorgman of Cape Cod, MA, Francis Sorgman of Brockton, MA, Marcus and Maria Sorgman of Framingham, MA; twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of the University Parkway Baptist Church,219 University Parkway, Johnson City, 37601 under the direction of Rev. Jim Knowles. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at eleven. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
