Patsy Curtis Swartz, age 82, of Johnson City, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2011 in the Lakebridge Health Care Center. Mrs. Swartz was born in Carter County, Tennessee, a daughter of the late William E. Curtis and Mary Christine Kyte Curtis. She was a active member of Cherokee United Methodist Church and retired from the City of Johnson City Finance Department with 35 years of service. She also served as the past president of BP&W. Mrs. Swartz was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford C. Swartz; one brother, Pat L. Curtis; two sisters, Mary K. Llewellyn and infant sister, Anna Sue Curtis. She is survived by one brother, William E. Curtis, Jr.; one sister, Winfrey Lee Curtis, both of Elizabethton, TN; three sister-in-laws, Clara Curtis, of Erwin, TN, Virginia McFarland, of Knoxville, TN, and Carolyn Swartz, of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 16, 2011 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home North Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home North Chapel with Rev. Michelle McKinnon-Young officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Cherokee United Methodist Church, 2615 South Roan Street, Johnson City, TN 37601.
