Patsy ?Susie' Starnes, 71, of Johnson City, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a lifelong resident of Washington County, a graduate from Boones Creek High School and a daughter of the late Clarence and Rosalee Gurley Barnes. She had attended Bethel Baptist Church. She was a beautiful, kind, loving soul that always had a smile for everyone. She loved her family with all her heart. She made all who knew her feel happy and loved. Known as ?Nanny' to so many. Her door was open to all that needed her. She was a loving mother and grandmother to all. She loved her animals, especially her cats Meow and Kelsey. She played in her flower garden often and enjoyed sewing with love and recording memories with her camera and photos. Her presence made this walk on earth a better place. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and friend. She loved her family most of all. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Lewis Barnes and his wife Doris. Survivors include: her husband, Jake Starnes; daughters, Julie Smith and her husband Leo, Janet Presnell and her husband Randy; granddaughters, Kayla Smith and Kassidy Smith; sister-in-law Nonie Keyes and her husband, Mike, brothers-in-law Jim Starnes and his wife, Shirley, and Rick Starnes and his wife, Susie II. The family of Susie Starnes will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Richard Bawgus. A committal service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Monte-Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to gather at the graveside by 2:50 PM. Pallbearers will be: Leo Smith, Randy Presnell, Richard Keyes, Craig Keyes, Logan Parmer, and Adam Keyes. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Keyes, Justin Keyes, and Alex Keyes.
