Patton Lyons Christian

Patton L. Christian, 73, went to be with his LORD at his residence on Tuesday, November 20, 2012. He was a native of Church Hill, son of the late James Clifton and Teresa Mae Jones Christian. Patton was a 34-year employee of Holston Defense Corporation. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving husband, father, brother and devoted friend to many. In addition to his parents a sister, Peggy Starnes and a daughter, Teresa Robinson, preceded him in death. Survivors include: his wife, Carolyn Newbrough Christian of the home; a daughter, Anita Christian of Summerville, SC; a grandson and his wife, Blake and Amy Dye of Summerville, SC; a great grandson, Blake Dye, Jr. also of Summerville, SC; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Joe and Joan Christian of Murfreesboro, Gerald Christian of Columbia, SC and Rodney and Wilma Christian of Summerville, SC; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sara Salley of Seymour, Velma and Bill Brandon of Rogersville, Patsy and Wendell Clark of Mars Hill, NC; a brother-in-law, Mack Starnes of Church Hill; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, November 23, 2012 at 8:00 pm in the North Chapel of the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Pastor Nathan Pate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until time of service at 8:00 pm. A committal service will be conducted on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Tri Cities Memory Gardens, Blountville. Active pallbearers will be: Vestal Bennett, Verlin Bennett, Ralph Mooney, Onnie Childers, Blake Dye and Lee Roy Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will be: Dr. Richard Bowie, Dr. Kenny Hopland, Bill Cooper, Jim Hicks and Wendell Christian. All attending are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
