Paul Clifford Francis

September 5, 1923 — July 12, 2012

Paul Clifford Francis graduated from an earthy body of clay to claim one of Pure Spirit July 12, 2012, after a long illness. He was a builder by trade and had the nick name of 'Do All Paul,' given to him for his highly creative mind that could repair, mend or create almost anything he set his mind to. Paul was a veteran of WWII, having served his country in the U. S. Navy. He will be remembered for his Christ like qualities in finding the good in all people and situations, in being helpful to those in need, and for his kind and forgiving spirit, but most of all in showing love to all those who crossed his life path. His green thumb produced a garden he always shared with others, and flowers that made the earth smile and his friends 'ooo and ah' with delightful joy. His friendly and happy demeanor leaves behind positive footprints and a great example to follow for each that knew him. He was a resident of Johnson City, but was born in Buladean, N. C. He was the son of the late Ruben Glen Francis and Mary Street. He has one surviving sister 'Lou' Gurgarus and one very special nephew, Floyd Hopson (that has been more like a twin Williams sweet wife Danielle, and their two children, Boston Barrett and Sofie Barrett, brother) . He was the father of Leon Francis of Black Mountain, North Carolina and Linda (Barrett, Disque) Francis of Piney Flats, Tennessee, and the late Dean Francis. He had two grandsons, John Barrett, (doctorial student at University of Minnesota,) and William Barrett (Owner of Can Do Enterprises) of Gray, Tennessee. The family will receive friends and the body open for viewing at Morris Baker Funeral Home Friday from 11:30am to 12:30pm. Interment will be at the Mountain Home National Cemetery Friday at 1:00pm. A celebration of life service with family and friends will take place at the daughters home in her Soul-Quest Garden at 209 Allison Court, Piney Flats, TN. Saturday from 5 to 9 with the service being at 7:00pm. Pall bears will be Thurman Walters, James Barrett, William Barrett, Roy Francis , Russial Bostnic, Jerry Davis, Jack Bumgardner, Jack Perkins & Boston Barrett.
