Paul Edward Duncan, 79, of Johnson City, died Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Elkton, Kentucky, son of the late William Elvin and Pernie Mabel Wilkins Duncan. Paul was a veteran of the Korean War, having served proudly in the U. S. Marine Corps as a Corporal. He spent many years as a material buyer of radar systems for the Hughes Aircraft Company in California. After retirement he and his family moved to Johnson City in 1999. Paul was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Johnson City. He loved people and engaged them in conversation whenever he could. In addition to his parents, his four brothers preceded him in death. Survivors include: his wife Marqua Jean Petzold Duncan of the home; two daughters Sharon E. Davis of Mission Hills, CA and Sandra M. Douglas of Johnson City; nine grandchildren (five blood related and four blended), 11 great grandchildren (three blood related and eight blended). Paul requested no flowers but memorials may be made in the form of contributions to: St. Jude Childrens Cancer Research, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. A memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church under the direction of Pastor Paull Dixon.
