PAUL FOREST LEQUIRE, JR. '? JOHNSON CITY, TN (PHOTO) Paul Forrest Lequire, Jr., 57, of Johnson City, went to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 6, 2011 following a brief but severe battle with cancer in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Lequire was born in 1953 in Lakeland, Florida a son of the late Paul F. Lequire, Sr. and Willie May Robbins Lequire. He was a native of Lakeland, Florida but fell in love with the Tennessee Mountains in 1973 and called this area his home for the remainder of his life. Mr. Lequire graduate from ETSU in December of 2007 with a degree in criminal justice. He was the Executive Director of the non-profit, Overcome Foundation. His foundation was started to help offenders gain a second chance in society. He was an ordained minister and co-founder of The Sheepfold Church in Limestone, Tennessee. He was a great witness for Jesus Christ. After graduating Mr. Lequire also received his mediation training at Lipscomb University. He used his mediation training and skills in his foundation, church, and with any others who needed help and assistance finding solutions to their problems. He was a member of the Literacy Council and the Weed and Seed program here in Johnson City, Tennessee. Recently, he assisted FTHRA with their re-entry program in the ACCP department. Mr. Lequires biggest and most memorable accomplishment was fatherhood. He was a single father to his two young daughters whom he raised with great faith and love. He was, and still is, dearly loved by his daughters and son who uphold him as one of the worlds greatest dads. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece, Jamie Nicole Lequire. Mr. Lequire is survived by his former wife and loving companion, Sharon Hollenbeck Lequire, of Johnson City; one son, Grier Power Lequire, of Knoxville, TN; two daughters, Morgan Gail Clark and husband Stephen, of Johnson City, Kathryn Brook Dahak and husband Nassim, of Johnson City; one sister, Paula Shields and husband Art, of Lavonia, GA; one brother, Karl Lequire and wife Karen, of Lavonia, GA; and one niece, Carrie Ginn and husband Jimmy Lee. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, February 9, 2011 in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A memorial service will follow at 7:00pm in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel.
