JOHNSON CITY ? Paul Lee Jones, 84, Johnson City, went home to heaven on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Jones was a native of Johnson City and the son of the late Paul and Ella Jones. He was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers, his mother- and father-in-law, and a sister-in-law. Paul proudly served in the U.S. Army. He retired from the City of Johnson City. After his retirement he spent much of his time with his family, gardening, and training his beloved hunting dogs. Paul?s faith was the foundation of his life. His witness, both in voice and example, led many others to a greater faith in the Lord. He was a member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a greeter for many years. Those cherished family members left behind include his wife of almost 50 years, Joyce Campbell Jones; one son, Ronald Paul ?Ron' Jones; one brother-in-law/son Ron Campbell; two brothers, Dean Jones and Larry Jones; special niece Debbie Honeycutt and her husband Ron and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express thanks to the staff of the JCMC ICU 2600 wing for their care of Paul. The receiving of friends will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Morris Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Paul Crowe and Rev. Howard Ray. Family and friends are asked to meet at Monte Vista Memorial Park Wednesday by 1:50 PM for a 2:00 PM graveside service. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearer will be the members of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church and hunting/dog training buddies.
