Paul Nelson

Paul Nelson, 76, of Johnson City, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Johnson City Medical Center.He was a Tennessee native and a son of the late Robert and Bertha Perry Nelson. He was also preceded in death by eight siblings including his twin sister Pauline Ward.. Mr. Nelson was of the Baptist faith and a retired Truck Driver. He had formerly driven for 15 years for the City of Johnson City and for Walker Brothers Ice and Coal. He had also worked for Bolton Concrete Products. Survivors include; his wife, Ann Nelson, two daughters, Teresa Rhodes of Sanford, NC and Phyllis Nelson of Greeneville, TN; two sons , Sammy Nelson and his wife Tammy of Johnson City and Steven Cochran of Sanford, NC ; a step son, Randy Carver of Johnson and a step daughter, Darlene Carroll of Johnson City; sixteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday, October 11, 2012 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Burial will follow the services. Rev. James Cutsinger will officiate. Pallbearers will be Cotton Nelson, Bobby Ward, Bradley Carroll, Allen Trent, Chris Nelson, Scott Hunter and Dallas Barnett. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 pm on Thursday and anytime after the service at a sons residence 301 S. Barton Street in Johnson City..
