Paul Ray Persinger

March 21, 1938 — July 2, 2013

Mr. Paul Ray Persinger, age 75, of Johnson City, went to be with The Lord Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at his residence. Mr. Persinger was a native of Watauga. He was the son of the late Charles Lewis Persinger and Grace Holden Persinger. Mr. Persinger was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He worked as an electrician for IBEW. Survivors include his loving wife of forty-nine years, Wanda Arwood Persinger; one daughter, Paula Tester and her husband Freddie; two sons, Daniel Persinger and his wife Leslie and David Persinger and his wife Becki; one brother, Lewis Persinger and his wife Ethel; six grandchildren, Kelsey Persinger, Kaley Persinger, Kody Paul Persinger, Rhetta Persinger, Dannah Persinger and Shelby Persinger. The funeral service for Mr. Paul Ray Persinger will be conducted at 8 PM Friday, July 5, 2013 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Glen Keller, Minister will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The Boone Dam Post # 4933 and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military honors. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:25 AM Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday prior to the service.
