Paula Lee Wood-Maples, 51, of Johnson City, TN passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
Mrs. Wood-Maples was orginally from Moundsville, WV and moved to Johnson City, TN in 2002.
She was passionate about being of service to those that were in need. She dedicated much time to being part of support groups for grieving mothers whom have lost children. In her free time she loved online shopping, playing her online games, cooking, and being with friends and family.
She is proceeded in death by: Chaz Lightner (son), Patricia Wood (mother), Joseph Wood (father), Paula "Polly" Martin (aunt) and Alvie Maples (father-in-law).
Survivors include: Her beloved husband of 18 years, Mike Maples. Her daughter Savannah Lightner, and son Rusty (Sarah) Lightner. Siblings: Shari Wood, Jolene (Ron) Thweatt, Misty (Craig) Huggins, T.J. Wood, Brandy (Scott) Manteau, Norman "Weezer" Workman, Opal Workman. Theresa (Tom) Trew (sister-in-law), Mitchell Maples (brother-in-law) and Marilyn (Jim) McClain (mother-in-law). Nieces and Nephews: Kyle and Taylor Davis, Cole, Preston, Waylon and Daniel Thweatt, Rachael, Josie and Belle Midcap, Adrianna, Kiersten, Joey, and Bailey Wood, Ren, Dale and Miles Manteau, Shasta, Chloe, and Damian Brown, Tommy and Tyler Trew, and Mitchell Maples Jr. Step-Parents: Norman (June) Wood and Bonnie Wood.
Last but not least, there is nothing like a Grandson that put a smile on her face, joy in her soul, and deep love in her heart. This being her precious, rotten "Pooper", Landan Mathes.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the caring nurses and doctors at Johnson City Medical Center at ICU Unit.
The family of Paula Wood will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Friday, February 19, 2021, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home.
