Mrs. Pauline Broyles, 97, formerly of 2812 West Walnut Street, Johnson City, passed away Tuesday November 24, 2009 in the Appalachian Christian Village. Mrs. Broyles was a lifelong resident of Washington County. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Winnie Fellers Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Broyles; one sister, Hazel Vest; three brothers, Ross Brown, Ivan Brown and Eugene Brown. Mrs. Broyles was a homemaker and a member of Unaka Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Jo Bowman and her husband Ray of Johnson City; one son, Edward Broyles and his wife Carol of Johnson City; six grandchildren, Steve Bowman and his wife Sherry of Johnson City, Amy Collins and her husband Sam of Johnson City, Leslie Mazzei and her husband Scott of Johnson City, Elizabeth Foster and her husband Dwight of Huntingdon, United Kingdom, Jennifer Humbard and her husband Darin of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Joey Broyles and his wife Jenni of Jamestown, North Carolina; ten great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Appalachian Christian Village for the loving care of Mrs. Broyles. The funeral service for Mrs. Pauline Broyles will be conducted at 2:30 PM Friday, November 27, 2009, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Robert Bowman and Pastor Anthony Harris will officiate. Jim, Ray, Tony and Robert Bowman will provide the music. The graveside committal service will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Steve Bowman, Joey Broyles, Sam Collins, Dwight Foster, Darin Humbard, Scott Mazzei, and Jerry Boyer. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:30 PM prior to the service. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Unaka Avenue Baptist Church, 1213 East Unaka Avenue, Johnson City, TN, 37601.
