Pauline Bryant Buchanan

Pauline Bryant Buchanan, age 97, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013 after an extended stay at Christian Care Center of Johnson City. Pauline was born in Bakersville, NC and lived most of her life in Johnson City, TN. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. In her years with us she has touched so many lives with her kind smile, her warmth, and her kindness to all. Dont forget her great cooking and love to share it. Mrs. Buchanan was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerome Edward Buchanan, in 1962. Pauline persevered on, raising her three children, Beulah Barker and Janice Reid, of Johnson City, and John Buchanan, and wife Debra, of Rydal, GA. She has nine grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Estella Bryant Buchanan of Johnson City. Pauline was truly the family matriarch and will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by: her parents, Jason and Sallie Bryant, of Bakersville, NC, and several siblings, John Bryant, Luther Bryant, Claude Bryant, Bascom Bryant, Beulah Bryant, Anna Bennett, and Helen Greene.
