Pauline H. Hopson

January 27, 1919 — February 24, 2016

Pauline H. Hopson, 97, formerly of Johnson City, died in N. Augusta, SC on Wednesday, February 24, 2016. She was a native of Hollenberg, KS, daughter of the late William Howard and Ada Salina James Hayes. Pauline was a retired manager of the cafeteria at Science Hill High School after many years service. She was an active member of the Southside Baptist Church since 1948 and served as Sunday school teacher there for all those years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Oliver N. Hopson in 1990; a daughter, Kathy Lorraine Hopson; a grandson, Kris Allen Hopson; a granddaughter, Dawn Hopson; two sisters, Mildred Jane Hayes and Genieve Lett. Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Ray Hyatt of Gaffney, SC; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Raymond B. and Janet Hopson of N. Augusta, SC and Richard N. Hopson of Pflugerville, TX; a former daughter-in-law, Judy Hopson of Pflugerville, TX; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 10:00am until 11:00am at the Morris-Baker Funeral Home in the Dogwood Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 11:00am under the direction of Pastor Willie Lunsford. Darrell Maupin and the Southside Trio will provide special music. A committal service will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Southside Baptist Church.
