Weather Update: We have spoken with the family of Peggy Phillips. Due to the weather, and for the safety of everyone travelling, all services for Peggy Phillips to be held today have been postponed. The new date for the services is Tuesday, December 11, 2018. The online obituary below has been updated to reflect these changes. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. ______________________________________________________________________________ Peggy G. Phillips, age 75, of Johnson City, Tennessee, died Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Johnson City Medical Center. Peggy was born November 23, 1943 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Calvin and Charlcie Goff Bishop. Peggy was a homemaker for many years. She was a member of Central Church of Christ. Peggy enjoyed pampering herself with trips to the hair and nail salons and shopping for clothes. She also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Thomas E. Phillips (2016) and sisters, Dorothy Lee Keys and Virginia M. Bishop. Survivors include: daughters, Lori Ann Davis and Beverly Denise (and Eddie) Crane, all of Johnson City; grandchildren: Anthony, Casey, and Elizabeth Dugger, all of Johnson City, Crystal (and Jessie) Taylor of Johnson City, and Thomas (and Denita) Taylor of Weber City, VA; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby (and Sharry) Bishop of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Peggy?s family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm in the Dogwood Chapel of the Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1:30 pm with Pastor Allen Evans officiating. The graveside service will be at 3:00 pm at East Tennessee Cemetery in Blountville: family and friends are asked to assemble by 2:50 pm at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
