Peggy Jean Wallen, 77, of Johnson City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
Peggy was born into the loving home of Oscar and Emma Ester Pickett Gibson.
She retired from Volunteer Blind Industries after a long career spanning almost 30 years.
Peggy was a very devoted mother and grandmother, and the most loving, caring, and passionate person you could ever meet.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by: two sisters, Dorothy Greene and Elsie Tyree; and three brothers, Bill Hughes, Ray Hughes, and Jimmy Hughes.
Those remaining to cherish the memory of Peggy include: one daughter, Emma (Kevin) Ferrell; two sons, Steven (Karen) Smith and Tim (Brenda) Smith; six grandchildren, Alicia (Brian) Ward, Megan (Drew) Johnston, Dalton Brownlee, Grace (John) Wade, Clara Smith, and Kade Smith; two great-grandchildren, Nash Johnston and Logan Johnston; one brother, Harry (Nancy) Gibson; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends is scheduled for 9:30 to 10:30 am on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service for Peggy will begin at 10:30 am and will be officiated by John Wade.
The committal service will be held at 12:00 pm Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to meet there by 11:50 am.
