Peter Lynn Huff

May 9, 1960 — December 27, 2017

Mr. Peter Lynn Huff, 57, of Sulphur Springs, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017. Pete was a lifelong resident of the Tricities. He was the son of the late Creswell and Maryanna Huff. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Milton J. Samuelson of Chicago, IL. Pete graduated from Science Hill High School in 1978 where he played football. His love for football carried over into his life with his sons and grandchildren. Pete worked as a long-time pipefitter for multiple different companies throughout the southeast. He and his family continued to live in the Tricities while he traveled to various areas to work. In his free time, he loved to watch sports with his children and grandchildren. He was a lifelong Tennessee Volunteers fan. His love for the Volunteers was evident in his attire and in many of his conversations. He attended multiple sporting events with his brother David, children and grandchildren. Attending these sporting events was not only a conduit to fuel his passion of being a Volunteer but to further his relationships with the people closest to him in life. Second to none, not even the Volunteers, was his love for family. He would always glow when visiting with or speaking about his family. His many friends throughout the area can attest to this. He was truly a family man first and for this, above all, will be missed. Many words or phrases could be said to describe Pete. In addition to ?Family man', the phrase that comes to mind when speaking about Pete is ?hard worker or work ethic'. Pete strived to be the best in everything he did. First and foremost, he did this with his family. Hence the phrase ?Family man'. He also did this in all other aspects of life too. Friends and coworkers that he was around on a daily basis can attest to this. His work ethic was second to none in this world. This trait has been carried over by his children as well and will continue to be passed down the family line. Survivors include his wife of thirty years, Julie Marie Huff; three sons, Ryne Huff and his wife Brittany of Houston, TX, Tommy Huff and his fianc? Kristy Riddle of Johnson City, and Josh Huff of Johnson City; three brothers, David Huff and his wife Sally of Knoxville, TN, Steven Huff of Atlanta, GA, Samuel Allen Huff and his wife Cheryl of Meridian, MS; one sister, Cathy Huff of Johnson City, TN; five grandchildren, Madison Huff, Cameron Huff, JD Huff, Bryan Huff, and Shyloh Huff; sister-in-law Jen and her husband Kieran of Warrenville, IL; Jeff and wife Laura of Warrenville, IL, Diana and husband Jack of Iowa; mother-in-law, Ramona Samuelson of Warrenville, IL; multiple nieces and nephews. The family of Peter Huff will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Morris-Baker. The funeral will follow at 11:00 AM. A committal service will be held at Monte Vista Memorial Park immediately following the funeral.
