Phyllis Ann Curtis Estep, 71, of Johnson City, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, at her home.
She was a native of Washington County, a daughter of the late Raymond and Madge Chatman Curtis
.
Phyllis was a Hospital Operations Supervisor at the Johnson City Medical Center for over a decade, but she spent most of her life caring for her family as a stay-at-home mother. She loved to spend her time reading or listening to music, especially Motown. She was also a skilled cardplayer, winning several rook tournaments with her late husband.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis is preceded in death by: the love of her life and husband of over 40 years, Blaine Estep; brother, David Curtis; close cousin and friend, Bonnie Feely; and son-in-love, Joseph "Patches" Rhey.
Those left to celebrate her memory include: her children, Lauren Tanner and husband Mike, Amy Rupert and husband David; sisters, Lynda Yarber and Joan Back; grandchildren, Alex Tanner, Meredith Tanner, Zach Rupert, and Gabriel Rupert; as well as many more nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service for Phyllis Estep will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, May 22, 2020, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Richards officiating. The chapel will be open at 5:30 PM. For those unable to attend, a livestream can be accessed on this page at the time of service.
