Phyllis Ann Paulantonio, 91, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2024, at her home. Originally from Long Island, New York, Phyllis pursued a career in nursing after graduating in 1953 from Buffalo General Hospital. Throughout her impressive career in the medical industry, she worked at various hospitals on Long Island, including Hempstead General Hospital and Deepdale General Hospital.
Known for her love of dancing, Phyllis graced the stages of Broadway as a young child. An accomplished musician, she demonstrated her talent by playing the accordion at the World's Fair in New York at the tender age of five. Most recently, Phyllis delighted audiences by playing bass alongside her dear companion, John, in Senior Express performances at local assisted living and nursing homes.
Phyllis cherished her hobby of birdwatching and adored her favorite song, "Roses Will Bloom Again."
She is survived by her son, Michael Thorn, daughter, Marcy Wielki, grandchild, Katherine Boucher and husband Brandon, great-grandchildren, Beau and Dylan Boucher, niece, Audrey Muscarella, and nephews, Ronald, Kenneth, and Harry Lorton. She is also survived by her companion of 16 years, John E. Kinsey.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, John Petkus and Alice McFarlane, her sister Grace Lorton, and her grandchild, Joshua Malin.
