Mrs. 'Polly' Martha Beckett Sells, age 72, of Gray, passed away, July 19, 2012, at her residence. Mrs. Sells was a native of Washington County. She was a daughter of the late Ralph and Dorothy Keplinger Beckett. In addition to her parents, one brother, Robert L. Beckett, also preceded her in death. Mrs. Sells was a homemaker, although she worked at Appalachian Christian Village for several years. She was a member of Bethel Church of Christ and attended Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. Polly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a special friend to many. Gardening, traveling, caring for others, and earlier in her life bowling and softball was some of her many interests. Survivors include her loving husband of thirty- nine years, James 'Peanut' Sells of the home; five daughters, Patti Bogart and husband Chick of Gray, Janie Jamerson of Gray and her special friend George Witt, Susan Day and husband Dennis of Johnson City, Ellen Jamerson McCall of Gray, and Renee Bowman of Greeneville; one brother, John W. Beckett of Greeneville; twelve grandchildren Aaron Jamerson, Amber Bacon, Trey and Alli Bogart, Briona and Brooke McCall, Brandon Dutton, Heather Patrick, Kelsey Pricenor, Austin Lowery, Makayla Bowman, Selena Franklin, and seven great-grandchildren. Also special friends Edith Lowe, Lynn McCracken, Lynice Broyles, Lovis Gardner and all her friends at Grand Mesa Condos, and sister-in-law Linda Sells of Jonesborough. The funeral service for Mrs. 'Polly' Martha Beckett Sells will be conducted at 2 PM Sunday, July 22, 2012 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Jon Reed will officiate. The graveside committal service will follow in the Washington County Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 PM Sunday prior to the service.
