Quinton Madison Britt

January 23, 1928 — February 14, 2018

Quinton Madison ?Buster' Britt, 90, of Johnson City, died Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the James H. Quillen VAMC. He was a native of Atlanta, GA, son of the late Ivy and Pearl Norton Britt. Quinton was co-owner of East Tennessee Transmission, which he sold in 1987; he then opened Britt?s Transmission in Kingsport. In 1987 he also started Love Your Car (a franchise) also a detail shop and window tinting business. He retired in 1991 due to health reasons. He was a longtime member of Lynn Valley Baptist Church. Quinton was an avid tennis player and loved to fish. In addition to his parents, a sister, Velma McCarty preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Sheila Lacey Britt; one son, Steve Britt; five grandchildren, Tyler Britt (& Lexi), Austin Britt, Dylan Britt, Madison Britt and Nicholos Britt; a great granddaughter, Emma Rose Britt; his honorary brother-in-law, Michael Lacey. A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 9:00 am at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to assemble by 8:45 am at the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
