Rallo Murray

February 2, 1919 — April 28, 2012

Rallo Murray, 93, of Johnson City passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2012 in the James H. Quillen VAMC Community Living Center in Mountain Home following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys Harris Murray in 2000, and a great Granddaughter, Chandler Reece Murray. Rallo is survived by two sons, Charles Murray and Mike Murray; one daughter, Pam Rice and her husband Earl all of Johnson City; three grandchildren, Shane Murray, Todd Murray and Kelly Murray; two great grandchildren, Hunter and Jonathan Murray. Rallo was born in Unicoi County, TN on February 2, 1919. Rallo was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served during W. W. II. He was a retired firefighter with the Johnson City Fire Department.A special thanks to Dr. Gary Bush at the VAMC. The family would also like to thank the wonderful staff of the VA Hospital and the Community Living Center during his brief stay. The family would also like to thank the caregivers and nurses of Amedysis for their special care and a special thanks to Regina Proffitt, Kristi Harrell and Susan Goodwin of Amedysis. Another special thanks to his caregivers Deborah Grindstaff and Deloris Grindstaff. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 am on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 from Roselawn Memory Gardens. A chaplain from the Johnson City Fire Department will officiate. Members of the Johnson City Fire Department will serve as pallbearers and will also have an Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, P. O. Box 318, Memphis,TN 38101 or to your favorite charity. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 until 11:00 am on Tuesday.
