Ralph Wilson Warren

Ralph Wilson Warren, age 95, a longtime resident of Portage, Indiana and recently from Piney Flats, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2011 in The Courtyards Nursing Home. He was born on October 17, 1915 in Lobelville, Tennessee, the son of William and Lillian Warren. Ralph worked as a switchman for the E.J. & E Railroad and was the owner of Warrens Auto Service. He was a member of the Hunkey Hollow Club, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and a member of the Piney Flats Baptist Church. Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Mary Warren; three sons, Billy Warren and wife Joan, Ronald Warren and wife Barb, and Stanley Warren and wife Donna, all of Portage, Indiana; one daughter, Nancy Holbrook, of Roanoke, Virginia; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and other loving family and dear friends. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Anna Warren, and four sisters. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Rees Funeral Home in Portage, Indiana. A graveside service will be held at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, Indiana at a later date.
