Mr. Randolph Barrett, 88, formerly of 4120 Navaho Drive, Johnson City died Wednesday April 29, 2009 in the Four Oaks Health Care Center. Mr. Barrett was born May 27, 1920 in Coopers, West Virginia, he was the son of the late George H. and Chloie M. Barrett. In addition to his parents his wife of sixty years E. Ruth Barrett; four brothers and one sister also preceded him in death. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, having spent three and a half years in the 825th Aviation Engineers Battalion. He retired after thirty-three years as chief engineer for WNLC and WTYD-FM in New London, Connecticut and WLIS in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. Mr. Barrett attended the Cherry Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include: sister-in-law, Jeannette Tedesco and her husband Gary of Johnson City; nephew, Rev. Steven Tedesco and his wife Kristina of Maineville, Ohio; sister-in-law, Patricia Barrett of Casper, Wyoming; brother-in-law, Charles Jeffery and his wife Virginia of Winter Haven, Florida; brother-in-law, Ted Jeffery of Edison, New Jersey; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Barrett requested that there be no calling hours at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The graveside service for Mr. Randolph Barrett will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday May 2, 2009 in the Roselawn Memorial Park. Rev. Steven Tedesco will officiate. Military honors will be accorded by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 PM Saturday. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the American Caner Society, 508 Princeton Road Suite 102, Johnson City, Tn. 37601.
