Ray William Clay

Ray W. Clay, 'Hippy'?, 53, of 767 Bayless Road, Jonesborough, died Sunday, September 23, 2007 at Jonesborough following a Motorcycle accident. He was a native of Johnson City, TN and a son of the late, George Willard and Elizabeth Irene Burgess Clay. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Buck Henry Clay. Mr. Clay is survived by one son, Jeb Clay of Jonesborough; one daughter, Lacy Clay of Kingsport ; two brothers, Clarence Clay of Jonesborough and Ronnie Clay of Catonsville, MD;one Grandson, Ethan Ray Clay of Kingsport and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 PM Wednesday from the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Burial services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Thursday from the Edgefield Cemetery in Piney Flats. Pallbearers will be Matt Serber, Gerald McInturff, Blain Lewis, Jason Stout, Billy Stout, Fred Hillgardner, Willard Cornell Clay, Robert Lee Holyfield and Chris Bledsoe. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 9:30 AM Thursday and proceed to the cemetery.The family will will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday.
