Raymond Alvin Nelson

Raymond Nelson, 82, of Elizabethton, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the Johnson City Medical Center.He was a son of the late, Joseph A. and Florida Nelson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley and by two brothers, Joseph Nelson, Jr. and Henderson Edward Nelson, two sisters Edith Nelson and Coravee Nelson.Mr.Nelson was a retired Truck Driver for KKW Trucking Co. Mr. Nelson was a U. S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War. He was a graduate of Manuel Arts High School and attended Los Angeles City College. Survivors include two daughters, Flora Craig of Elizabethton and Felicia Tolson of Edgewood, NM; two sons in law, Wendell Craig of Elizabethton and Doug Mercer of Edgewood, NM; two Grandchildren, Aaron and Maurice Craig; two Great Grandchildren Yusuf and Zahra Craig and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from the Morris-Baker North Chapel at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 26, 2010. Rev. Vincent M. Dial will officiate. Burial will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. .
