Rebecca Jane Peters, 42, of 1294 Bluefield Avenue, Elizabethton, died Saturday, October 14, 2006 at the Johnson City Medical Center as the result of an automobile accident. She was a native of, and had lived most of her life in Washington County and was a daughter of Paul Edward Hartley and Dorothy Ann Coffey. Rebecca was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Her maternal grandparents, Robert Coffey and Leva Grubb and her paternal grandparents, Thomas and Bertha Hartley also a stepsister, preceded her in death. Survivors include: her father and stepmother, Paul Edward and Shirley Hartley of Johnson City; her mother and stepfather, Dorothy A. and Robert L. Church of Johnson City; two sons, Chris Peters and Branden Peters both of Elizabethton; a sister, Teresa Diehl and her husband Stanley of Elizabethton; a brother, Robert Lee Hartley of Johnson City; a nephew, Jonathan Diehl of Elizabethton; a stepbrother and five stepsisters; several aunts and uncles. A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of the Morris - Baker Funeral Home, under the direction of Rev. Roy Yelton and Pastor Tom Lawson. The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. A committal service will be conducted on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at the Washington County Memory Gardens at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. to leave in procession to the cemetery. Friends will serve as pallbearers.
